Yet again I'm blown away by this wonderful cohousing group I'm lucky enough to have joined. I start to send out paint money requests and the first deposit is in the account before I have sent out the last of the emails! It's not 24 hours since I started to send the emails and already half of our group have put their money in. I'm not even sure when it is needed by. If only my business customers were as keen to part with their cash. This email is really to send you the notes from our Getting Along Team meeting on Sunday. I'm hoping you'll be able to find time to read the attached report before the Thursday meeting, so that anyone interested has a bit of the background. We want to book a spot on the agenda and suggest the three minutes included in the report to the whole group for reaction/discussion/ratification/changes/adoption before we (hopefully) show cards on them. Mortgages

Hi everyone, If you have read the notes of last week's meeting you will have seen this: A word from the site meeting: Bill (the foreman) is aiming to have the build work completed according to the original schedule, at the end of November – 8 weeks away. This meeting’s task of creating a timeline of what needs to be done for code compliance becomes more urgent. It would be helpful to know how many unit holders have to organise mortgages prior to settlement. Can you please let us know at ucoldunedin(a)gmail.com We can then add a note to the To Do list so that this group is reminded to contact their banks and begin the process towards securing a mortgage in time for settlement. Paint prices and kiwibank account number sent

Hi folks Everyone (except Jess and James) should have received an email from me with paint cost and the bank account for payment. If you haven't received it, please reply to me now and I'll send by return email. Jess and/or James, it's not that you don't also have to pay, it's just that I couldn't find your email address(es). If you would email me back I'll make sure that you get yours too. Hi Roz thanks for getting this started. sounds like its not straight forward, am particularly worried about commercial extraction… I think the advice Justin is giving regarding commercial vs high quality domestic should not be overlooked. Perhaps we might go with a F&P appliance, especially now that we have a commercial account with them. Community-Led Housing Discussion

Just to let you know that tomorrow (Thursday 8 October) there is going to be a "community-led housing discussion" held at the Athenaeum basement from 5-7pm, organised by Campbell O'Neill. There will be six speakers. The suggested topics are : - Camia, discuss Collet’s Corner and its successes and trials so far - James, discuss the comparisons you’ve drawn between papakainga and cohousing - maybe in regard to whakapapa - Barry, discuss your place in the various communities and how it relates to your knowledge of the finance sector - David, discuss your views on how the public sector maybe able to assist in the community led space - drawing on DCC’s involvement with High Street? - Anne, discuss the social and community infrastructure of the High Street project that is coming together - in regard to the codesign, codevelopment aspects - Campbell, the idea of collecting people and drawing them together to a shared goal. I'm sure that Campbell O'Neill, who is organising this, would be keen for more people to come along, and all of us would have a lot to contribute from personal experience about getting the Toiora project off the ground and almost ready to move in.
