Hi Tim & Co Housers !! ,
*Tim: Very important *if you can confirm my *assumption taken (see below)*
from drawings, also because there has been some changes/variations I might
not be totally aware of or not having the latest drawing - something like
the Shower in lieu of Bath for D1 (Anna & Anthon) .
*To all Cohousers !!* ( may be Mike & Ros exempt)
Most units will need tiles, either a single strip of splashback. Tim can
explain this later.
!!You can go and buy at your leisure or …
[View More]do with the group, your choice. I
think in this case and at this point where SW is hurrying us up - & given
this current situation of coronavirus and perhaps short of supply from
China, Italy, Europe - there may not be a lot savings on buying it in bulk
so for those who know what they want they can start looking at the "sales.
I have made up a list on our shared spreadsheets , but I will update
it *tonight !!
and will include wall & skirtings*
*Summary of who needs what *
*Floor Tiles . *
- *All D units ; M3 ; M1 ( I think) & A6 *
Wet floor showers : A6 & D1 ; Tim Could you please confirm the floor
detail? I think you specified "Marmox" ? will it need to be raised ?
*Wall tiles (incl. splashbacks & skirtings) *
*- All units need wall tiles !!* ( Excepet Mike & Roz I think) Note, this
it might only be 1 tile behind the wash hand basin - TIm please confirm
A1-A5 = WHBasin Splashbacks only , 200x700mm (guess) x 2
A6 = Wet Shower ; Bath ( splashback) & Basins
H1-H3 = WHBasins x 2
C1-C6 = WHBasins + Skirtings ( but I think is wrong or not required)
D1= Wet shower + WHBasin x 2 + skirtings
D2-D6 = Baths ( I believe it should be better to make these walls up to
ceiling) + WHbasins x 2 + skirtings.
Remember I will update quantities on the spreadsheet ( see link below)
tonight:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MUVuwH00hzQfu7v_MPmA9qnZVesmlP7cMie…
And will send some examples of simple choices also ( and hopefully tonight
) and will chat with Tile Centre tomorrow and possibly 1 other supplier.

Juan Puricelli

Kia ora Donald,
Thank you very much for your email, i really appreciate the thought. Its
amazing how fast things move and not long now until this co-housing vision
opens its arms …
[View More]to families. I have forwarded the email to some of our other
members to discuss a name and hopefully by mid/ late next week we will have
a name and whakapapa to the name. Is that okay? Appreciate the involvenment
in this kaupapa, kā mihi.

Tēnā koe Waiariki.
Kei te pēhea koe?
I trust that you and your whanau are in good health and have settled into
your own new normal under lockdown conditions. I imagine this will mean
loss of contact with some whanau and no fishing and surfing for you!
Miriam and I took the decision a week ahead of the announcement to place
ourselves in isolation and have not been off our property except for a flu
jab last Wednesday and we are now well attuned to our home-based life.
I contact you on behalf of our Co-housing Otepoti whanau who are mindful of
the initial decision by Ngāi Tahu Property to sell the former High Street
School site to Urban Co-Housing Otepoti Limited for the development of our
co-housing site. We also recognise your more recent participation in
November 2018 when you generously gave your time and blessed our project
prior to construction starting.
Since that time the High Street, Alva Street and common house blocks have
been substantially completed and once site works recommence the fitting out
and final ground works will complete the build. We are hope to be finished
late 2020.
We again seek the guidance from Kāi Tahu through Kāti Huirapa regarding the
possibility of a gift of a Māori name for our community and include here
our kaupapa as an initial guide.
*Our vision is to create an urban cohousing neighbourhood, which promotes
social and environmental sustainability, based on respect and shared
responsibilities.Through robust eco-design and layout establish a cohesive
community, which fosters wellbeing, diversity and the right use of
resources.Develop and foster a thriving living environment, which uses
clear communication, decision-making and conflict resolution guidelines
that promote tolerance, safety, respect and co-operation.*
With the above in mind we would very much appreciate your thoughts on our
request.
Ngā mihi nui.

Hey all you cool cats and kittens
Attached are what I think are the final notes from the 23 April meeting.
However I know that some of you have not read the draft ones because only
two people emailed with corrections .... and they weren't the people whose
names I had incorrect.
I feel I should probably give you a bit more time to get back to me with
corrections (given that in the past it has taken me a week just to get the
draft notes to you) but I'm trying to tick off as much as possible from …
[View More]my
list so that I can get my American Culture Fix for the next week. So,
unless I get a big outcry, here are the final notes from 23 April.
Keep smiling.

*A final note on finials…..*
Marianne had also understood that one association with Finials was to keep
witches out, but Rainer tells us that in Germany, they are vital in
protecting houses from fork lightning, which they get a lot of, as opposed
to sheet lightning which is more common here. Each house has a metal rod
extending over the roof line, which connects down into the earth, to
neutralize the otherwise high risk of fire!
