Dear all,

thanks for all the input, photos, buildings to look at, swatches, High St block drawings, opinions expressed so far.

I am glad finally to have been able to see the real colour in the flesh, as digital versions vary hugely from screen to screen. That is why I have refrained from expressing an opinion until now. It was good to see the painted boards and swing round to look down High Street and see two very similar colours within cooee of our establishment: pueblo is reflected in the large brick villa on the crest of the hill on the opposite side of High St; scoria is reflected in the roller door of the 1970’s house on the diagonal corner of High and Alva Streets. Good to go and see in different lights and not just the high sunlight of the photos circulated. Many days are overcast or low light especially in winter, therefore the brighter terracotta (rather than orange) of Pueblo is what sings for me…..

Dear all Scoria lovers, Pueblo enthusiasts, those being agnostic, colour-blind, and all others,

You can go Pueblo, Scoria, or express no (strong) preference. (This is not as sophisticated as Claire suggested, but at least there is a middle way.)

I've pre-selected preferences for those who've expressed one clearly through email, copied below.

Maria will read the total tally on Monday.

If it’s a tie, I suggest we involve the mayor in this historic landmark decision!

Pretty good plan D.
