About the soft spot? Not seen anything to suggest there has.

Is it feasible to move the whole alva block? Probably not.

Could we get rid of the dcc unit and make the block shorter and avoid the soft spot that way?

Could alva become an L shape with the soft spot unit at right angles to the others?
