We have distanced ourselves from ucol so in some ways feel we aren’t entitled to an opinion, however, we may see things differently because of our reduced involvement .

We feel the debate about which lawyer to have could go on forever and that ultimately some people are going to be disappointed, even angry and hurt, at the outcome.

Can we suggest (if organisation makes it doable) that a deadline is set for everyone to put their own arguments/feelings/opinions by email and that once the deadline is reached we have a vote, agree to accept the result and move on?
