I had a few people asking about private variations so decided to send this email to everybody. Please note: we have not received any invoice for private variations yet.
If there is a private variation request, we will ask the builders to provide a cost and we will receive a variation proposal with a $. The variation will then need to be approved (either by me or by the PCG) before doing the work.
I have kept those that requested private variations informed. I have been asking to confirm by email that they are happy for me to approve the variation on their behalf.
So by doing this we are keeping a record of what was approved and we know what to expect on the invoices that is coming our way.
The idea is that the builders will do the work and they will invoice us at a later stage, (sometimes a few months later). I will inform individual as soon as we receive invoices related to private variations. You'll then need to be ready to pay within a week.
We are organizing this (builders/accountant) to keep things separate from the main contract. Hope this is clear but let me know if you have any questions.
