When I got sick I adopted the serenity prayer, which is used by AA. Something weird about a long term teetotaller and advocate of total prohibition using their creed but works for me.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.^[1]
