Hi all
I’ve had a look at the numbering system too and looked at numbering retirement villages, yes I know..,
Anyhow, it’s mainly about emergency services finding the right place. We will have a fire panel for the High Street Block, no fire panel for the Alva terrace houses, and a fire panel for the Montpelier (school) block. In an emergency the services have to be directed to the correct housing block. A fire reported at 23/25 Alva Street would not get the fire service to the right place, fire panel (7 Montpelier) immediately.
It also seems with the Linz requirements that each housing block needs to have a separate house number.
So perhaps we have to look at 21 (23?) Alva Street, 25 Alva Street, and 7 Montpelier Street. The High Street block being 1/21 to 9/21 Alva for the ground floor and 101/21 to 106/21 for the upstairs units.
kind regards Rainer

Hi All,_______________________________________________Further to our conversation at the last meeting regarding numbering of the homes at High St, here is the response from the guy we are dealing with at the DCC:"I have just gone through the Addressing Standards we have to use and I don’t see how using a letter to identify a building is allowed. So as best I can see you are stuck with numbers only.If the site is clearly addressed the building shouldn’t be an issue."
I can't be at the meeting tonight but hopefully this sheds some light on what our options are.
Tim.
