Since Roz asked, here is the brief update:

Yesterday it was confirmed by the contractors that the alarm cable is fixed.  The next steps are a fire certificate needs to be issued by the fire inspector, then the code compliance certificate can be issued by the council, then we can settle.  Timing is still very uncertain but possibly by the end of month.

Right now there was a rumor that the fire inspector may have further issues before the fire certificate is issued, and the inspector is not responding to queries from our contractors (e.g. the fire engineer and Aotea).

I hope this can be sorted out on Monday.
