Hi Roz
At the last discussion of the Toiora Agreement (a fortnight ago) the question was raised about whether preparing meals was optional or expected - the overwhelming consensus was that people wanted it to be expected. So Warren altered the wording.

From my memory (not always reliable)...
The last induction was on the 30th of Jan and some of the membership agreement was discussed.
More of the membership agreement was discussed at a more recent meeting (Feb 11?) and there was discussion of this particular issue and the group decided that everyone should help with the meal preparation.
Is that correct?

This is from the latest version of the cohousing agreement:
The use of common facilities creates obligations to contribute to the functioning of our community.
Mauri mahi, mauri ora. – Do the work, get the treats
Resident members are to attend Group meetings and koha time to one or more of the following:
Participating in Work Groups. Contributing to community working bees. Helping prepare shared meals.
This is from the kitchen group notes from this week:
As we talked about and agreed last meeting, everyone will be involved in preparing shared meals. You will be asked to volunteer for cooking once or twice a month
Some of us did discuss this at the last induction day, checked the wording was correct, and were told it is correct so not everyone has to help in the kitchen if that is not their thing.
Is there a later version of the cohousing agreement? Regds roz
