Hi all, I'm excited to be able to let you know that Margaret Charles's son, Eroni will be moving into Unit 15/C2 . The timing is still dependant on the UCOL settlement date of course but you may see either Margaret and/or Eroni around in the coming weeks. They will be measuring for drapes and painting etc. I know you will make Eroni welcome and I'm confident he will be a great fit in the community. Cheers Warren

Note-taker swap request

Hi Is anyone able to swap note taking duties with me next Thursday? We booked tickets for the Solidarity Myanmar concert at the town hall, completely forgetting it was meeting night. Happy to do two lots of meeting notes for the price of one as an incentive! From last meeting just an additional note that Sara’s washing machine is a front loader. Admin group: Water meters and electric car charging.

Hi everyone. The admin group met on Monday, and I read the electric meters. I will send a bill with your electric charges soon. We would also like you to record your hot water meter reading. If you don't know where the hot water meter is find myself or Juan to give you a hand. I'm including some pictures from my house, the A units should be similar. Also as previously discussed, if you have an electric car that is using the charging points, please let us know the odometer reading when you moved in, and the odomoter reading now. If people can get these readings to us in the next 24 hours that would be ideal. Thanks, Alex cupboard This is beside the pantry in the A units. URGENT: Key for C2 / Unit 15

Hi everyone, I called in to Toiora about noon today to say 'Hi' and clear my letter box. I was surprised to find that the C2 key wasn't on the key board. And even more surprised to find my unit unlocked! If you have used the C2 key in the past few weeks so the fire alarm inspector could have access, or for some other reason, please * check your pockets * look on the bench where you put stuff to deal with later * any other place where the key might be (even the wrong hook on the key board) When the key is found please lock my door and put the key back on the board. Then email or text me (021 539090) to let me know the place is secure. Thanks in advance Warren

Since Roz asked, here is the brief update: Yesterday it was confirmed by the contractors that the alarm cable is fixed. The next steps are a fire certificate needs to be issued by the fire inspector, then the code compliance certificate can be issued by the council, then we can settle. Timing is still very uncertain but possibly by the end of month. Right now there was a rumor that the fire inspector may have further issues before the fire certificate is issued, and the inspector is not responding to queries from our contractors (e.g. the fire engineer and Aotea). Legal advice from UCOL lawyer

Further to my email yesterday, Simon Milne's advice is that the money sitting in trust accounts cannot be released to become a loan to UCOL, but can only be released to complete settlement. He would be surprised if any purchasers' solicitor would agree to release the funds without settlement and receipt of title. Obviously this is a different opinion to Antony Hamel's. I think that those in this position will need to talk to their own solicitor about the approach that they would take in this matter. If people are willing and able to loan money back to UCOL, we will be able to reduce our interest bill. Simon also asked who was liaising with DCC and stressing to them the urgency to issue the certificate of code of compliance, once the fire alarm work is completed. Anne

See response from Stephen Edge below regarding part repayment of loan. I believe there is over $2million currently sitting in trust accounts awaiting settlement, half of our total loan of $4.3m. If those in that position are willing, please would you instruct your lawyer to transfer the amount in their trust account to UCOL - 38-9018-0373981-00 - and then let us know that you have done this.
