We have already filled out the spreadsheet. M2 does NOT want to bring its own appliances. We don't want a rangehood but have been told we have to have one. sam from architype said there are options that don't involve the ugly hood things (no use for tall husbands) or ones that fit under cupboards (cos we aren't having overhead cupboards) but are waiting to hear from tim about what might be available to us. when I last contacted him he was too embroiled in the soft spot to worry about rangehoods. You can see the bones of the structure and the space that will be your homes! We have an important request from Stevenson and Williams and the Project Manager. We need your selection of appliances as the kitchen cabinets are starting to take shape soon. Sara, Rainer and Sander have been working on the spreadsheet with options for those buying Fisher and Pykel. Appliances selection for M1 have been supplied. Thank you. We understand that M2 and M3 would like to bring their own appliances (they will not be Fisher and Pykel). Now is the time to choose your other appliances. We need to send this information to SW through the Project Manager URGENTLY. You need to supply your selection of appliances for: Oven Stove Range hood (I understand that M2 will have no range hood), correct? Dishwasher. As you know, we had delays with the foundations so this resulted in more work done in the common house so the M units are leading the way. An interesting report about how our current food industry is environmentally unsustainable and unhealthy. They recommend eating more fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and whole grains, and less red meat. (Aim to consume at least 125 grams of dry beans, lentils, peas and other nuts or legumes per day. Aim to consume no more than 98 grams of red meat (pork, beef or lamb), 203 grams of poultry and 196 grams of fish per week.). I hope we can use this as the basis of our common meals. Thanks, Alex

Does anyone have experience of the OPIA annual bus trip? I presume that viewing from the road (with some explanation from one of us) might be an option without requiring access on to the site - if we wanted to do that. appliances for M units

Hi all The remedial work may put us back 2 to 3 month in our time schedule for the new build. As the first shipment of the SIPs is due in mid Feb and the second in mid March, a temporary shelter (scaffold with shrink wrap?) may be build to store the panels. Meanwhile there has been a lot of progress in the common house and the common house units may be finished first…! Hence S&W is now asking for the appliance schedule for the M-units! They may start building the kitchen joinery for these units very soon. Once the appliances have been chosen, it is important to establish the cut-off date for ordering these. Sara might need to talk to F&P and we may need to buy these units earlier. To clarify, the clearances, ventilation requirements and cut-outs for the cabinets are different for each appliance model. Antony Hamel, lawyer, will be presenting (for 15 mins) at the Housing Summit being held in Dunedin on 28 Feb, on the topic "Inner city developments: joys and pitfalls". He plans to speak about some common themes that he has observed in working with 5 or 6 clients involved in housing developments in the city. Our project is one of them - Antony is lawyer for a number of shareholders. Antony is asking whether he can name us and speak specifically about the project, or whether we would prefer not to be explicitly mentioned. He also encourages one or two of us at least to come and be part of the summit - it is an all-day affair 9.30am-4.00pm at the Otago Museum. Sent from my iPad
