At kakanui we had a key pad lock. So no key, just punch in the right series of numbers and the door unlocked. Installing carpet in the meeting room TOIORA

Hi TOIORA fans, The carpet layer has done a great job in our main common area and lounge in the common house. Thanks to Frances for organising this. He is now getting ready to finish the job and needs to install the carpet in the meeting room. He can work in the area on Friday 2/April. The meeting room is full of things, so *we need volunteers to move these things out of the meeting room into the main common area. * So if we want him to do the work, *we need to move the things over the next three days*. Maybe we can do this mid/late afternoon? If you are able to help, can you get back to me asap so we can see how many people are available and start coordinating the work and get back to the carpet layer person. Gay was going to coordinate with the cleaners. Thanks for doing that! Gay: Did you talk with them today? I suspect we would need to do the cleaning in two stage as we move things around? Thoughts? It has been suggested this display a phone number. Could we have a cheap pay as you go mobile so someone could carry it at all times? Would be helpful if someone arrived and needed to know where to go or there was a delivery or someone needed help and would save standing out on the lawn yelling! Regds roz

Hi Cohousers, As per last night's minute here is our Cohousing Agreement in its initial working stance. Please each print and bring a copy to the next meeting; find someone from another household to be your witness; and sign the Agreement (page 7) and the Child Protection Policy (page 11). All the signed Agreements need to be stored somewhere - someone from the Finance & Administration Work Group will perhaps volunteer . . .? That same person might also be the holder of the editable document in Word format. Thank you everyone for ALL your contributions along this journey. And a special thanks to those who emailed their comments on grammar, consistency and ways to find a middle ground. While I may have been the collator, it truly was a community effort. Morena to you all - attached please find the draft notes from our meeting last night in Alex's unit on the grounds of Toiora. It feels wonderful to be this close to moving into our project! Please read these notes and let me know what I missed: I have inserted a couple of question marks in there for this reason. At this point, we plan to meet again on the usual schedule, at least till settlement. Ie there will be a meeting on Thurs 1st April, presumably on site. Hi all As a member of the common house group and keen to have a cosy room I've done a bit of googling about firewood. Looks like around $1300 for 10 cubic metres. Gum (per m3) Macrocarpa Other Timber direct Abbotsford Oregon $120 Burnable now City firewood Old Brighton Rd $135 per m3 $125 Hot mix poplar and gum $110m3 Old man pine $110 Claims very dry Quality firewood Kaikorai Valley Rd $135 $135 Old man pine $120 Firewood Dunedin Ravensbourne $120 $120 Old man pine $195 A review claims wood was wet All deliver free. It may take more than one load for the amount we need. Dryness is really important. From a quick look at our burner manual I think it recommends soft wood have a year of seasoning, hard wood 2 years. City Firewood seems to emphasise that its wood is well seasoned. If anyone can endorse any of these suppliers or has any other favourite suppliers that would be great. The partly covered concrete path behind the common room looks fine for storage - with a tarpaulin. Anna
