As you can see, I have resubscribed to our email system under my personal address, and unsubscribed from my work address. So 'Permaculture Paradise Claire' can be boots and all into place-making and home-making on our wonderful site and community building in our great neighbourhood. And the director of Passion for Language Ltd. can get on with looking after clients' communication needs. My phone number is still 027 293 1983 and I'm still at 11 London Street. Notes from Antony's talk

Thanks to Catherine for organising Antony Hamel to speak to us at Thursday's informal meeting. I did my best to write down all the key things that were said and Antony sent me his rough notes, so what is attached is a combination of both. Catherine recorded the entire session (approx 1 hour) so contact her if you want a link to view it all. For those who weren't able to be there and aren't keen to wade through 1500 words, here's a summary of Antony's advice: *Sell now . Do a "double shift" rather than risk losing 5-15% of the current value of your property by waiting until the cohousing build is finished.* Looking forward to our next meeting! I for one will be keen to leave the zoom running after the formal meeting finishes to hear if/how his advice has affected plans of my fellow cohousers. Cheers Jan

Hi all, Following Tims email, we are organising a spreadsheet (thanks to Sander) to vote for the colours. Options are: Scoria and Pueblo. Link to the spreadsheet will be sent later today. People can view colours on site over the weekend (boards are next to H3 corner unit) and attached image/links. Then vote for your preferred colour via the spreadsheet by Monday. Dear all Scoria lovers, Pueblo enthusiasts, those being agnostic, colour-blind, and all others, I've set up the preference register here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/178ol9YD6dUrYcm_JNbk8Xr1aZVj7nUGQtUM… You can go Pueblo, Scoria, or express no (strong) preference. (This is not as sophisticated as Claire suggested, but at least there is a middle way.) I've pre-selected preferences for those who've expressed one clearly through email, copied below. High Street Cladding Colour

Hi All, Just further to the discussion about cladding colour below is our best digital approximation of how the two different colours will look on the High Street building. Pueblo top and Scoria at the bottom. If people are interested in this decision it would be good to visit the site today or tomorrow and see the two colour samples as seeing photos and renderings is never quite the same seeing colours in reality. We have left the two colour samples leaning against the back door of H3 which is the unit behind the arch. Please note the Pueblo sample is a little shiner then it would be in reality. Also if you want get an idea of Scoria at a larger scale it matches very closely the red container currently located in the centre of the common space. See below a few more images for reference. For what it's worth my preference is for the Scoria colour as I am concerned that the Pueblo colour will look quite orange. We will need to make a final decision about this soon as the painters are keen to progress the High Street facade. Tim. Hi all, Towards the end of last year, Antony Hamel, lawyer, who specialises in property and conveyancing and represents a number of cohousers, came to a meeting for those of us interested in selling our houses before moving into cohousing. Given the ensuing changes from Covid 19, he is keen to meet again with any interested cohousers to update them with the current house market since lockdown levels have eased. Again there are no costs or obligations with such a meeting and is open to any cohousers, whether or not they are his clients. For ease of organising, I have suggested that he could zoom into the “social” meeting next Thursday at 8pm for half an hour, along with questions for any one interested, if this is acceptable to people. Please let me if you are interested and would like for that to happen at that time. If there is sufficient interest we will go ahead, otherwise will find another time - though tricky to co-ordinate - for those interested. Thanks, Catherine

Power supply options

Kia ora everyone Attached is the report that I read from at last night's meeting. The power supply network, its rules, and participants is a complicated environment. I have tried to simplify it as much as possible while including components that may affect our decisions. So there are 2 pages of report and 5 pages of background information. It's also in landscape format to make some tables fit. The most important thing is that you look at https://www.canstarblue.co.nz/energy/electricity-providers/ and choose 2 or 3 preferred suppliers before the next meeting. Thanks Warren
