It’s great to see the enthusiasm exhibited by people – and even better seeing the amazing amount of work already done: beautiful lawn, bricks moved, establishing of compost and rubbish collection systems, common house and common room organisation. Today I see the workshop group are getting underway, Cohousing at its best!
In our membership agreement, it is agreed that there would be over-arching committees/groups responsible for activities. They were: Shared Meals; Landscape & Gardening; Commonhouse & Social; Finance & Administration.
Under each of these major headings I understood there would be subgroups, and if the larger group was having a meeting, all subgroups under their umbrella would be alerted to the date/time and agenda in case they wanted input into something potentially affecting their area of interest, to get permission to do something, or to apply for money to do something . . .
I am particularly conscious of this in regard to The Landscape & Gardening Group and the Commonhouse & Social Group. Currently there is potential for decisions to be made on an ad hoc basis by any interest group who is working on a particular project. We need an over-arching committee to ensure all decisions fit within the overall agreed intentions.
Could we discuss the formation of these groups, the subgroups under each one, and the composition of each please?
I see we are supposed to use the cards for committee meetings, do we need to discuss that as well?
