We ask the PCG to make a decision on this matter. – All Green. · We received the report for Warren and agree not to proceed with the Earthlight proposal for provision of internet services. 2 Blue, 13 Green. · We thank Rosemarie for submitting the proposal to the DCC by the 31 Oct and we agree to contribute $5000 to match the probable DCC Heritage fund grant. All Green. · We agree to prioritise spending from the historic fence renovation budget to create openings in the fence for the units on High and Alva Street. All Green. · We ask the scoping group to develop a case for removing the two fence panels from the southern end of high street so that these panels can be used elsewhere. 13 Green 2 Blues. *Discussion Items: * 1. *PCG Update* Notes from PCG meeting circulated with the agenda for this meeting. Frances recapped for those present. Discussion of new main distribution board location. The proposal is that this is will now be located on the external wall of the workshop. Discussion of angle parking on Alva St. Catherine wondered if we could simply paint lines on the road rather than building a full curb extension. Susan brought up the need for electric vehicle charging on Alva St. Tim has been discussing EV charging with a company to provide this. Rosemarie has approached the DCC regarding the possibility of running angle parking all the way down Alva Street. She has approached Megan and Megan appears to be open to discussing this. 2. *BCG Update* Nothing to report 3. *Legal Liaison Group* Legal Liaison Group Update - Anne has spoken to Simon Milne and his advice was that the group should pay for the drain unless Megan plans to use the drain. Anne will circulate the note from the lawyer. Catherine suggested that we should ask Megan to contribute 50% of the cost of moving the pipe to the easement. Anne said she was uncomfortable asking Megan to pay anything. Warren suggested that if in the future Megan wants to use it we can ask her to contribute then. Gay suggested that we tell her upfront if we will want her to pay to connect. Minute: We ask Tim to request pricing info from S&W to reroute the stormwater pipe to Montpellier Street. We ask the PCG to make a decision on this matter. – All Green. 4. *Health and Safety* Reminder not to place furniture against the heaters in the meeting space. 5. *Shared Internet Access* Warren’s report recommended that we don’t go with the Earthlight proposal for the provision of a shared LAN and that we all make arrangements our own internet. Minute: We received the report for Warren and agree not to proceed with the Earthlight proposal for provision of internet services. 2 Blue, 13 Green. 6. *Heritage fence* Rosemarie provided and update on progress in discussions around the heritage fence. There was a meeting of the scoping group this week. The DCC heritage fund are offering $5000 for the restoration of a section of the fence as a scoping exercise. Donald offered to match the DCC’s contribution with $5000 from the UCOL fence fund. Rosemarie suggested that we prioritise creating new gate ways for the units. Discussion of fence design. Rosemarie agrees to follow up with Zeal Steel re the safety of the 2 fence panels which have been taken of site. Min asked that people read the bodycorp rules before coming. This meeting is mainly focused on getting Anna and Anthony up to speed with where the document is at. There is another workshop planned for Sunday the 21st November. 9. *Open Forum.* · Christmas potluck at Anne’s place from 6pm on the 21 Nov. Secret Santa planned. Meeting closed at 9:30pm

Creating parking spaces

Hi all, I was walking past Olveston/St Hilda's this morning and thought I should take photos of the painted kerbs there which have created angle parking outside Olveston. I presume we can do the same on Alva St, and won't need kerb&channel or asphalt? (And if not, why not?) Anne

Yes I can confirm that our discussion following your email of 14 October is as you detail below. The existing position of the stormwater drain and existing use rights would be covered under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1974 (relevant provisions attached). However as discussed I confirm that it would be far better and secure to utilise the area of the existing registered stormwater easement (shown A on the attached plan). This is registered over the relevant titles and is in your favour. This is especially so given that your plumbers are saying that they can redirect the manhole/ stormwater pipes so that they are then within the easement area. This would be a good result and would future proof these drainage rights. In respect of costs, as this registered easement area is in your favour and allows you the right to drain stormwater across that neighbours land then the costs would be your responsibility. However, if the neighbour was also going to utilise this new stormwater drain then they would need to contribute to the costs in proportion to their use. Will this new drain also benefit the neighbour? For example if their stormwater was to connect in to the new drain. If not then all the costs are your responsibility. My account of our communication will be that I emailed you on 14 October outlining the situation we have regarding stormwater drains that currently cross our neighbour's property, but not within the easement drawn on the plans a the time of subdivision. Following further information received on 17 October, indicating that the plumbers were recommending moving a damaged manhole so that it used the easement shown on our neighbour's Certificate of Title, you told me that this would be your recommendation, that while an existing drain does 'create a legal easement', it would be advisable to use the easement shown on documents. I have been asked for your response to one of my initial questions: " if it is feasible to use that easement, who should bear the costs?" I don't think this was covered in our conversation. Discussion on fence tonight

Hi folks A possibility for reducing some of the very large expense on the historic fence is up for discussion. It’s this section at the top end of the High st frontage. (The gate and posts will be restored.) It will have to be run past both Heritage NZ and the DCC, but there’s evidence it was not included in the 1905 construction, as the slope above the janitor’s cottage steps was excluded. These two panels probably came from the gap where the brick shed was built in the 1920s. Replacing them will involve new footings up the rising ground, and they could be very usefully repurposed as four of the new gates. Tim will report what kind of fencing is proposed for the back border with the town belt, and for the metre or so on High St where the historic fence is short of the corner anyway. This must also meet with your approval, especially Claire’s. But security fencing this section could be a nice frame for growing something. Cheers Rosemarie

Hello all, There is a Workshop on the Sunday, 27th October. Several members are away over that Labour Day Weekend, so it will be a small gathering at my place. 61 Isadore Road, Saint Clair (Opposite the Saint Clair Golf Course) 10.30 am start. Bring a pot luck lunch. I'll provide all tea/coffee/milk and drinks. And think about ideas for the afternoon excursion as well - I'll leave that to someone else to organise. Anna and Antony will be coming down to Dunedin for this workshop, so I would like to take the opportunity to go through the whole Body Corp document with them. Not just the rules, but also going through all the discussions they have missed about what they would LIKE or EXPECT from living in Cohousing.
