Hi, plans attached for kitchen. Sadly they have not scanned well but they
are basically the same as the ones in tim's drop box.
There were several options:
New commercial: this is what we are currently looking at
New domestic: expensive and not what was envisioned
Old commercial: could buy a few pieces but mostly odd bits from Christchurch
and probably not what we actually want
Old domestic: nothing would actually fit, could be damaged in removal and
not so many available in dunedin
Nothing, defer any action till move in
We have had two visits from Southern Hospitality, they do seem to know their
stuff but not the easiest to work with. I don't like having to chase
businesses all the time but they are local so benefits there.
We have been given a 30 day quote of $41399 including gst.
Please note: does not include installation, delivery (ex Auckland) is an
estimate, does not include a hob (they recommend a big domestic instead).
Also the wooden benches at servery and on the island in the original plan he
has replaced with stainless steel. They would not recommend wooden as they
don't wear well, are high maintenance and also have drawbacks as far as
allergies or special diets are concerned.
Until recently we all thought the contingency wouldn't allow a new kitchen
though the long term benefits of having one would be huge and eliminate a
lot of future hassle. Currently we are hoping for a large amount to not be
needed, if we time it right we can claim back the gst and offers of loans
that came in after my wee survey gave us the promise of another $20 000+. So
we are all feeling confident something can be achieved for move in.
We are meeting again next Thursday and will discuss the kitchen further,
with the plan of ordering asap. A container load of simply stainless benches
is due in Auckland at the end of November so if we can order from that we
could even have a kitchen from day 1.
Anyone with any thoughts or questions please get back to me urgently,
meeting next Thursday and a public holiday means we can't delay. Regds roz
